In the old testament, there was a year of Jubilee. This occurred every 50
years. In the year of Jubilee, all land returned to the original owner. That
is what it means by "the number of crops remaining". This refers to the
number of years until the year of Jubilee.

I have never read that part about discounting the land for the number of
years it had left to product crops, how interesting.

Hello,
In my study of Moses and Israel I have come across some scripture concerning
the business of selling land and the current mortage crisis came to mind
causing me to think about our behavior in our society as a whole. Needless
to say it can be convicting...

Praise the Lord that we can come to Him and ask for forgiveness when we do
feel convicted of sin.

live among you. 37 You must not lend him money at interest or sell him food
at a profit. 38 I am the LORD your God, who brought you out of Egypt to give
you the land of Canaan and to be your God.
Leviticus 25
14 " 'If you sell land to one of your countrymen or buy any from him, do
not take advantage of each other. 15 You are to buy from your countryman on
the basis of the number of years since the Jubilee. And he is to sell to you

FW: Holy Humor

CHRISTIANS DO HAVE A SENSE OF HUMOR -----

A  father was approached by his small son who told him proudly, 'I know what the  Bible means!' His father smiled and replied, 'What do you mean, you 'know'  what the Bible means? The  son replied, 'I do know!' 'Okay,'  said his father. 'What does the Bible mean?'
'That's easy, Daddy...' the young boy replied  excitedly,' It stands for 'Basic Information Before Leaving Earth.'
=======
There  was a very gracious lady who was mailing an old family Bible to her brother in  another part of the country.
  'Is  there anything breakable in here?' asked the postal clerk.   'Only  the Ten Co mmandments.' answered the lady.
========
'Somebody  has said there are only two kinds of people in the world.
  There  are those who wake up in the morning and say, 'Good morning, Lord,' and there  are those who wake up in the morning and say, 'Good Lord, it's morning.'
========
A  minister parked his car in a no-parking zone in a large city because he was  short of time and couldn't find a space with a meter. Then  he put a note under the windshield wiper that read: 'I have circled the block 10 times.  If  I don't park here, I'll miss my appointment. Forgive us our trespasses.'
When he returned, he found a citation from a police  officer along with this note 'I've circled this bloc k for 10  years.
  If I don't give you a ticket I'll lose my job. Lead us not into temptation.'
========
There  is the story of a pastor who got up one Sunday and announced to his  congregation: 'I have good news and bad news. The  good news is, we have enough money to pay for our new building program..
The  bad news is, it's still out there in your pockets.'
========
While  driving in
Pennsylvania , a family caught up to an Amish carriage.   The  owner of the carriage obviously had a sense of humor, because attached to the  back of the carriage was a hand printed sign... 'Energy efficient vehicle:  Runs on oats and grass. Caution:  Do not step in exhaust.'
========
A  Sunday School teacher began her lesson with a question, 'Boys and girls, what  do we know about God?' A  hand shot up in the air.   'He  is an artist!' said the kindergarten boy. 'Really?   How  do you know?' the teacher asked.
'You know - Our Father, who does art in  Heaven... '
========
A  minister waited in line to have his car filled with gas just before a long  holiday weekend. The  attendant worked quickly, but there were many cars ahead of  him.   Finally,  the attendant motioned him toward a vacant pump.   'Reverend,'  said the young man, 'I'm so sorry about the delay. It  seems as if everyone waits until the last minute to get ready for a long  trip.' The  minister chuckled, 'I know what you mean. It's  the same in my business.'
========
People  want the front of the bus, the back of the church, and the center of  attention.
========
Sunday  after church, a Mom asked her very young daughter what the lesson wa s  about.
  The  daughter answered, 'Don't be scared, you'll get your  quilt.'   Needless  to say, the Mom was perplexed.   Later  in the day, the pastor stopped by for tea and the Mom asked him what that  morning's Sunday school lesson was about. He  said 'Be not afraid, thy comforter is coming.'
========
The  minister was preoccupied with thoughts of how he was going to ask the  congregation to come up with more money than they were expecting for repairs  to the church building. Therefore,  he was annoyed to find that the regular organist was sick and a substitute had  been brought in at the last minute. The  substitute wanted to know what to play. 'Here's  a copy of the service,' he said impatiently.   'But,  you'll have to think of something to play after I make the announcement about  the finances.'   During  the service, the minister paused and said, 'Brothers and Sisters, we are in  great difficulty; the roof repairs cost twice as much as we expected and we  need $4,000 more. Any  of you who can pledge $100 or more, please stand up.'
At that moment, the  substitute organist played 'The Star Spangled Banner.'
And that is how the  substitute became the regular organist!
=========
Give  me a sense of humor, Lord,
Give me the grace to see a joke,
To get some  humor out of life,
And pass it on to other folk!

Friends – I have been approved to spend a few dollars to have one final meeting before many of you move over to your new work areas.  I would like to have a fellowship lunch on October 22nd and noon and finish with a prayer session.  To plan appropriately, I need to know the following:

  • Who will attend
  • What should we eat (pizza, subs or chicken)

So, if you could send your inputs as soon as possible I will make the necessary arrangements.  I would like all confirmation by this Friday, October 17th. Thanks

Hello,

This past weekend Clare Groover's mother died unexpectedly.

Please help me to pray for both families by agreeing with me in the following:

Lord, we pray for our two work friends Jim and Clare. You know what we feel when our loved ones die.  I ask that you would bring comfort and Your peace into the lives of these 2 families.  Father,  I pray for those family members that do not have a relationship with you.  Please use that sorrow that they now feel to draw them to Your Son so that they may lead the rest of their lives in Your knowledge and in the comfort of Your Holy Spirit.  Please allow this time to become a time of healing within the members of each family  so that any differences may become meaningless in the realization that our time here on earth

is limited and is more wisely spent in peace with one another.  Lord I also pray for any financial burdens that may exist, please meet the need.  Thank you Lord Jesus for Your Presence in our lives,  that we do have someone who knows and understands us  completely and advocates for us at the Throne.  Father, we ask these things in the name of Your Son Jesus.  Amen.

I appreciate all your friendships in Christ,

Maria

FW: God's Cake

What a wonderful concept – keep the loving thoughts and prayers going

      Let’s meet on October 8th at 12:30pm in Laplace for prayer !!!

      Bring in your burdens, your prayers for family and friends, for our leaders and our country.

God's Cake

Sometimes we wonder, "What did I do to deserve this?" or "Why did God have to do this to me?" Here is a wonderful explanation!

A daughter is telling her mother how everything is going wrong: she's failing algebra; her boyfriend broke up with her and her best friend is moving away.

Meanwhile, her Mother is baking a cake and asks her daughter if she would like a snack, and the daughter says, "Absolutely, Mom, I love your cake."

"Here, have some cooking oil," her Mother offers. "Yuck," says her daughter.

"How about a couple raw eggs?" "Gross, Mom!"

"Would you like some flour then?  Or maybe baking soda?"

"Mom, those are all yucky!"

To which the mother replies: "Yes, all those things seem bad by themselves. But when they are put together in the right way, they make a wonderfully delicious cake!

God works the same way.  Man y times we wonder why He would let us go through such bad and difficult times.  But God knows that when He puts these things all in His order, they always work for good! We just have to trust Him and, eventually, they will all make something wonderful!

God is crazy about you. He sends you flowers every spring and a sunrise every morning.

Whenever you want to talk, He'll listen. He can live anywhere in the universe, and He chose your heart.

If you like this, send this on to the people you really care about. I did

Life may not be the party we hoped for, but while we are here we might as well dance.

RE: Sept 24 - SYATP

Oh I wish I could attend, I will be in Dallas, but I would love to pray while I am there, if you have any specifics I can pray about those.

Not sure if you all get these messages or not – would anyone like to lead us – next Wednesday – in a prayer activity?  We could meet at about 12:30 as a group and pray for those key opportunities identified below,  for key activities occurring here in Tucson, and for those in our TI family in Tucson that need support and encouragement.

Lord, we implore you to make our schools a place where our children can learn in physical, emotional, and spiritual safety. Give them godly teachers who encourage them and are dedicated to them. Amen

On Wed Sept 24, America's students will observe this year's S.Y.A.T.P. Together in Prayer. Please plan to participate with other TIers in this vitally important event!

We have so much to pray for don't we? Some of these are:

  • Our local, state, & national leaders, including our current president and next
  • The upcoming elections, that God will be honored and glorified by the leadership to follow
  • Our country
  • Our economy
  • Hurricane victims and their families
  • Our collective believers at all levels of TI, to seek the Lord's guidance and blessings in all our lives.
  • Our families

There is no set agenda for your prayer time but feel free to share in singing and/or a word of testimony of how Christ is and has been working in your lives.

Below is list of sites, locations, and facilitators who have participated in past prayer events. Please review and we hope you can join us at your location and if it is not listed and you would like to facilitate a prayer event at your site, please let me know & we will list your site, location, & time for you.

Facilitators, please confirm if you will/will not be able to facilitate again. Also, I will list new sites as we get more facilitators to lead, ok?
