TIDN update and meeting cancellation

Good day everyone,

 

I will be on time bank all of next week, hence we will need to cancel the meeting scheduled for the 20^th. Please send me an update on your initiatives activities and plans for the remainder of the year. I will combine all of your inputs and send it out to the team.

 

Were you able to accomplish this year’s goal of increasing membership for your initiative? 

o    WIN – approximately 20% of women participate. Working on increasing participation.

o    Indian initiative goal is to increase membership by 30%.

o    CVI is working on increasing membership and participation from present members.

o    Chinese will be working on increasing membership and participation.

 

I need to submit a projected budget for 2013. Let me know if you have any suggestions for the budget. Below you will find the approved budget for this year.

2012 Approved Budget:

$350 for an outreach program within the community which will include all initiatives.

$350 for team building exercise for all members.

$200 for quest speakers, brown bag luncheons.

$100 for miscellaneous expenses.

 

Please try to attend next month’s meeting which is scheduled for the 18^th. Let me know ahead of time if you will be unable to attend.

Attached are Christ-centered-comics that were drawn up by my nephew.  His name is Joshua Staller.  He is 23, lives in Garrett Indiana, is newly married, and has a baby on the way.  He is a CNA by profession, but does "chalk talks" and other drawing on the side.

Bearing Others’ Burdens

Glorify God Together

The motivation is simple sickness in my stomach, when I hear stuff like this… How can you teach “multi-faith”, and call “your” church – “Evangelical”????!!!

Surely, it is “his” church, not of Christ….

Roberts is the founding pastor of NorthWood, an evangelical church that has 2,000 active members and is known for its humanitarian service in such places as Vietnam and Afghanistan.

You are invited to attend a lunchtime session on Oct. 2 titled "Multi-faith: A New Platform for Building Bridges" presented by the Rev. Bob Roberts Jr. of NorthWood Church in Keller.

The session, sponsored by the Christian Values Initiative (CVI), the Muslim Employees Initiative (MEI) and the TI Jewish Initiative (TIJI), is the first in a TI Diversity Network (TIDN) Multi-faith Dialog Series. The series will include presentations by speakers of different faiths as well as visits to places of worship.

During the noon Oct. 2 session – in the South Campus Auditorium and by WebEx – Roberts will highlight 10 key principles for multi-faith relationships. Roberts is the founding pastor of NorthWood, an evangelical church that has 2,000 active members and is known for its humanitarian service in such places as Vietnam and Afghanistan.

Note that this session will also be broadcast in South Campus Conference Rooms S1 & S2 for those who want to eat during the presentation.
